It took 10 years to get this session
Lila's photo session took 10 years!

Lila came to the studio a few weeks ago for a very special session. This was a session 10 plus years in the making. This isn't so much because of Lila but more of her mom, Jeannine. Jeannine was the first person who believed that my black dogs photos would be a good book, which it did! The Black Dogs Project, which was a viral success, became a book because Jeannine believed in it and went to bat for it with her company.
We were supposed to meet after the book was published, but for whatever reason, she couldn't make it up to Boston, so we never met in person. Now, 10 plus years later, she and her whole family came up to my studio from New York so Lila could get a proper black dog styled photo session. It was a thrill to create these photos of Lila for Jeanine. Lila was such a good dog and we were able to shoot some really wonderful photos. Lila is now over 11, so it's a really important time to get photos like these done for her.
I went all out on the production of the photos. I printed them on Hahnemühle baryta paper and had it delivered to her home in a gift box, so it was a really special experience, getting the photos and opening them up.
I know she and her family really love them and will enjoy them for years to come.

Which of these photos do you love the most? I'd love to know, so please comment below.
